Fall in Love with Your Skin with The Flow Method

Fall in love with your skin. -Jackie Van Ruler

From the age of 12, I have invested time in taking care of my skin. Growing up in Arizona, my mom and dad modeled the importance of hydration. They took water with them each time they left the house. It became normal for me to do the same.

In addition to hydration, my dad emphasized the importance of sunscreen and UV protection. As a teenager I would complain about it but I still wore sunscreen religiously. This habit has stayed with me into my adult life.

Even with healthy lifelong habits, as I accumulate more years on this beautiful earth, I am noticing signs of aging. With an intention to keep my skin healthy and elastic, I set out to learn more about how to care for my mature skin.

For the past few years, I would get a facial every three to six months. Between treatments, I would keep my normal skincare routine. With more free time during quarantine, I began to learn about holistic facials from my friend Amy. Last week, Amy treated me to a holistic facial using The Flow Method.

The Flow Method is the best facial I have ever experienced! Amy’s touch is so nurturing; I went into a deep relaxation similar to what I experience in Yoga Nidra and Guided Meditation. After a 90-minute treatment, my skin was glowing and smooth. I felt peaceful and restored.

The Flow Method and Gua Sha

The Flow Method, developed by Jackie Van Ruler, combines facial massage, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, and Gua Sha stones to improve circulation. Using light touch with the hands, The Flow Method lifts and tones the skin. The technique moves lymph out of the body and relieves tension in the face, neck, and décolleté.

Originally used for relieving stress and tension in the body, Gua Sha has recently made its way into the beauty industry. Gua Sha is an ancient technique that clears stagnation and changes the skin. Using natural stones and gentle strokes, it lifts, sculpts, and tones the face. The technique stimulates collagen production and improves how the skin ages. Together, Gua Sha and facial massage support the immune system and reduce inflammation.

Estheticians trained in The Flow Method use Gua Sha and facial massage to sculpt and contour the face. Clients experience a vibrant, healthy glow and brighter complexion. The Flow Method will help you “fall in love with your skin” by  improving elasticity and reversing the signs of aging.
